چکیده

For gas spheres with masses of 104M0'"'-'1020Me, the hydro dynamical evolution, beginning from a state where the objects have become opaque, is calculated by means of an electronic computer. The effects of general relativity is included, but energy transport is neglected. The mechanism of bounce, crush and collapse is discussed qualitatively. It is shown that gas spheres with mass greater than about 107 Me cannot escape from the final collapse because of general relativistic effect, though this mass limit depends on the initial condition. Therefore, the cause of the expansion of the metagalactic system cannot be explained in terms of the bounce of a gas sphere with mass about 1020 Me.

A no-go theorem for direct collapse black holes without a strong ultraviolet background

Explaining the existence of supermassive black holes larger than ∼109 M at redshifts z 6 remains an open theoretical question. One possibility is that gas collapsing rapidly in pristine atomic cooling haloes (Tvir 104 K) produces 104–106 M black holes. Previous studies have shown that the formation of such a black hole requires a strong UV background to prevent molecular hydrogen cooling and ga...

Hydrodynamical equation for electron swarms

We study the long-time behaviour of light particles, for example an electron swarm in which Coulomb interactions are unimportant, subjected to an external field and elastic collisions with an inert neutral gas. The time evolution of the velocity and position distribution function is described by a linear Boltzmann equation (LBE). The small ratio of electron to neutral masses, , makes the energy...

Integrated Analysis of Choke Performance and Flow Behaviour in High-Rate, Deviated Gas-Condensate Wells

Understanding the flow behaviour in a gas well is crucial for future production strategies, obtaining bottomhole conditions from wellhead production data, analyzing production data and estimating reservoir properties. In this work, the pressure profile and flow regime are studied on four wells of a multi-well, multi-layer gas-condensate reservoir, producing at high rate. The wells are deviate...

Segregation Behaviour of Particles in Gas Solid Fluidized Beds at Elevated Pressure

A comprehensive mathematical model based on the discrete particle model and computational fluid dynamics was utilized to investigate mixing and segregation of particles in fluidized beds at high pressure. To quantify the extent of mixing in the bed, the Lacey mixing index was used. Simulations were carried out with different mass fractions of small particles at various pressures ranging from 1 ...
